Firided’s domain registrar has raised its .com pricing to $17.29, which seems a bit steep. He initially chose them due to the free WHOIS privacy they offered. However, with his local currency depreciating against the USD, the exchange rate now makes every price increase feel much more impactful. This situation isn’t unique to him—currency fluctuations are affecting many people. While this may not be a significant issue for individuals with just one or two domains, how does it affect domain brokers who manage large portfolios? For them, the costs add up until they can sell the domains at a reasonable price. Some registrars are offering price reductions, but are they struggling with renewal costs? Where can you find a reliable domain registrar these days that doesn’t offset lower prices with excessive add-ons, such as charges for WHOIS privacy?

Control Panels Similar to cPanel…
After cPanel/WHM introduced their first annual price increase several years ago, the search for alternatives began. The driving factor? The continuous price hikes. However, most alternatives fall short, either due to missing features, unfavorable conditions, or unappealing pricing models. Recently, a new thread was started by Chris, one of the more active contributors in the control panel discussions. He’s now seeking CloudLinux/CageFS or Enhance variants that include account isolation. Whether free or paid, the main focus is on finding panels that support this feature, as not many offer it by default. While cPanel and Webuzo can integrate CloudLinux/CageFS to enable account isolation, Enhance already has this feature built in, utilizing v2 cGroups and namespaces. It appears that few control panels offer similar built-in capabilities. Dive into the discussion and see if you can uncover the answer—have you found it yet?

Domain Registrar Price Increases (Again)
Firided’s registrar has raised the cost of .com domains to $17.29, which feels a bit on the high side. He initially chose them due to the inclusion of free WHOIS privacy. However, with the depreciation of his local currency against the USD, the exchange rate has made every price hike feel especially painful. This situation isn’t isolated—many others are feeling the same effects of fluctuating exchange rates. While it may not be a significant issue for someone with just a couple of domains, how does it impact domain brokers who manage a large number of domains, incurring costs until they can sell them at a reasonable price? Although some registrars are advertising price reductions, are they feeling the pressure of renewal costs? Where can you register domains these days without inflated add-ons like charges for WHOIS privacy?
